Dr. Alexis Scatchell, O.D. After College she applied to Optometry school and ended up choosing New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Boston quickly became a city she held near and dear to her heart, a close second to Chicago she has said. In her last year of school, during rotations, she specialized mostly in pediatrics. Since then, in her practice, she has added 'hard to fit contacts' and dry eye treatment as specialties. Practicing since 2006, she will be the first to tell you how much she loves Optometry. She has been known to speak at Chicagoland grammar schools about her career, what it entails and what her exams yield for the patient (i.e. glasses, contacts, ocular health findings etc.). Dr. Scatchell moved back to the Edgebrook area when she had children of her own. She has toddler twins so most of her free time is spent with them, but when she does very rarely get ‘adult time’ you can find her and her husband at one of their favorite restaurants downtown.
